The framework of the program CDCD – built in the perspective of continuous dialogues and collaborations, offers the opportunity for a better understanding and exploration of issues of postcolonialism.
The access to specific archives of the institutions involved, networking with other scholars and creating communities with the participant artists as well as locals, will contribute to the development of the proposed project. This could dynamically open the potential diverse perspectives.
His personal experiences living and being raised in a postcolonial society where the impact of laws and mentalities continue to shape contemporary understandings of sexuality and identity is a motivation for his proposal. The project refers to the exploration of the relationship of the queer and gay population with the queer immigrants through the lens of postcolonialism. This project couldn’t be hosted in a more beneficial environment than a program that explores postcolonial language and hierarchies.
The digital reflection titled Recipes from a courtyard garden – Grandmum’s olive pie, created by Andreas Mallouris, resonates with and responds to the experiences gained during his one-month residency at D6 Culture in Transit UK. It not only reflects on the residency itself but also extends into the post-production phase, exploring the ongoing processes and transformations that follow the residency experience.
