Laís Andrade in residence at La Bonne

During the residency the Brazilian born, Portuguese based artist Laís Andrade has integrated into the everyday life of La Bonne, and felt particular interest to work with Sindihogar Sindillar, the Syndicate of the caregiver workers. La Bonne has facilitated the bond and relationship in order to provide ample access to Laís in the most organic way.

Laís chose to develop a project around her ties with the Sindihogar Sindillar companions’ experiences as migrants and their ideas of home, family, writing and migration. What connects them? And what does it have to do with the passion fruit tree?

At the end of the residency, Laís presented the result of her research in a special evening with a presentation by Georgina Santos da Silva from Cine Andada, the screening of the audiovisual pieces ‘Organizar lo (im)possible’ by Carme Gomila, ‘La ventana in-cómoda’ by Sindihogar Sindillar  and ‘Flor de Estufa’ and ‘Vivenda Saudade’, by Laís Andrade. Finally, Georgina Santos da Silva, Laís Andrade and Mariana Alva from Sindillar Sindihogar hosted a conversation about the audiovisual pieces.
